Meet the Staff at Kindergarten

Nicola Higginson

I am the Manager of Portico Kindergarten. I have been with Portico Day Nurseries since April 2005 where i started as a student, i was employed in August 2005 and progressed to Senior of the baby room then promoted to Deputy Manager at Kindergarten and now Manager.I have a  level 3  DCE in childcare . I am also A1 & a2 unit qualified. I am the Safe Guarding childrens Officer.
I have a recent paediatric first aid.

Rachel  Thomas

I am a qualified DCE,  I did part of my training for my qualification at Portico Lodge. i have been empolyed with Portico Day Nurseries since March 2008. I am currently working in the baby room as Senior Nursery Nurse but worked in 2-3's for 1 year. I also have a recent Paediatric first aid. I am the equal opportunities co-ordinator. 

Mair Davies

Hi my name is Mair. I am senior nursery nurse and I work in  2-3's. I started at Portico Kindergarten at the end of April 2008. I am a qualified NVQ 2 and  NVQ 3. I have been working for Thomson holidays as a children's holiday rep for the past 5 years. I am the behavioural policy co-ordinator.

Elaine Wilkinson

Hi I am a part time member of staff. who joined Portico Day Nurseries in January 2009 I am a mum of three with bags of experience. I am enjoying working with the younger children in the 2-3's room.

Jane Waterson 

Hi I am Jane, I am the deputy Manager here at Poritco Kindergarten. I am a mum of two and work a school day here at Portico Kindergarten in the pre-school room. I started here in September 2008.I hold a level 3 BTEC diploma.I am the nursery SENCO

Danielle Irving

I joined Portico Day Nurseries as a student completing my level 3 DCE and was taken on in May 2009 i work in the 2-3's room. I am the Parents as Partners Co-ordinator

Bekky McIlwaine

I joined Kindergarten in November 2009 part time but have now started full time (jan 2010) working in the pre-school room. I am level 2 qualified in childcare and level 2 qualified in health and social care, i will also be completing my level 3 here at Kindergarten. I have 2 years experience working with ages 0-5.

Francesca Hornby

I joined Portico Kindergarten in March 2010, i am level 2 qualified and have nearly completed my level 3. I work in the pre-school room and have had 2years experience working with 0-5s. I am a qualified first Aider and am the behaviour co-ordinator

Sarah Seddon

I have just joined Portico Kindergarten April 2010 but have been coming here on college placememnt over the past 12months. I am level 3 qualified and i am a qualified first aider.

Amanda Roberts

I joined Portico Kindergarten in March 2010 as the nursery cook i have my food hygiene certificat but also i am a level 3 qualified Nursery Nurse and cover as supply in the 2-5s room, i have also just enrolled on the Early Years Foundation Degree andstart in September 2010.

Rachel Jones

I joined portico Kindergarten in March 2010 as a full time NVQ 2 apprentice i work in the 3-5s room.
