Portico Day Nurseries is committed to children's health.

We have joined the "stop the rot" campaign. This encourages children to take care of their teeth.

We will be working closely with St Helens Primary Care Trust, accessing trianing on supervides tooth brushing, and they will provide us with toothpaste and toothbrushes will be chnaged regulalry for all the childrne in our nursery.

At least five portions of fruit and vegetables are served every day.
Our outdoor areas are accessed every day.
Healthy menus.
Regular hygiene routines are followed throughout the day. This is reinforced by the curriculum.

We have also joined the NHS ''change for life'' campaign. We have already held a 'breakfast4life' event and plan to hold many more.

We do supervised toothbrushing in partnership with the local primary care trust who supply us with tooth brushes and toothpaste. All staff are trained to carry this out.
