Settling In Policy
The nursery staff will work in partnership with parents/carers to settle the child into the nursery environment.
When a child is accepted by the nursery, arrangements will be made for a visit so that the child can familiarise him/herself with the nursery. Parents/carers can make as many visits with their child before the child's actual start date as they wish.
We take it day by day and it will be between you and your child's key worker to decide how best to settle your child. During the first few weeks, parents/carers are encouraged to stay with the child for sufficient time so that the child feels settled and the parent/carer feels comfortable about leaving her or him.
Parents are encouraged to telephone nursery or call the nursery as many times as they wish, to check on their child. If telephoning, it is not always possible to answer the telephone. However if you leave a message and wish us to call you back please do so.
We have an open door policy and encourage parents/carers to drop in at any time during the day to see how there child is.
