EXTRA ACTIVITIES
We are looking into booking some outside agencies to come into nursery and carry out some extra activities with the chidren. We are asking Miss Sarah the dance instructor to come back each week to do dance sessions and we are looking into leaps and bounds and spanish lessons. We will be sending a letter home soon to see which parents are interested for their children to participate and I will beable o book them into nursery.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank you all for your continued support. We had a great response to our parents evening and had a fantastic amount of parents questionnaires returned with some wonderful feedback. The girls work really hard and it is really uplifting when they get such positive feedback and support for their efforts.

Can I also say a personal thank you to all the parents who sponsored me for my reverse bungee jump for Christies Cancer Care. We raised £140 so thank you very much.

Congratulation to Stacy who won our staff member of the term. Stacy is genuinely hard working and dedicated to her job role and ensuring that the children's interests are planned for with a range of fantastic activities to do. WELL DONE STACY ENJOY YOUR HALF A DAY OFF.
2-3's won our first room of the term award. They have scooped the prize this time for their fantastic array of displays and activities as well as their briiliant relationships they have with others. WELL DONE ENJPY YOUR NEW EQUIPMENT FOR YOUR ROOM.

UPCOMING EVENTS

Zoo lab are booked to come into nursery on the 7th Septmeber. They will be bringing along some insects aswell as some creatures and reptiles with them, so the children can look and hold them. This is a great learning opportunity for all the children to experience.
Week commencing the 12th September is Roald Dahl week so we will be learning about his amazing books and characters, watch some DVD's and make a role p0layt area.
Portico Lodge will be celebrating its 8th birthday this year on the 23rd October. We will be having a birthday party with games, face painting, dressing up and lots more things to do with fun.

Please find time to check out our training course list that all our staff will be attending over the year. These courses help our staff members to become better nursery nurses which helps them carry out their role of looking after each individual child to their best ability and keeping up to date with the recent requirements.

Debbie and Stacy are attending an eight session course over the next 12 months called the stepped appoach to outdoor learning. It will give us vital information on how to enhance our outdoor area and help the children access the learning areas more effectively and help us deliver a high quality area to learn in and explore. We will receive new resources for attending and have already received our first collection of outdoor water play and equipment. The children have had lots of fun already..........let's just say staff were very surprised and will be bringing lots of spare cloths thanks to the new hosepipe!!!!
Please check out our gallery, it is filled with some wonderful displays and table top displays for the children to enjoy and have helped to create. I have also updated the staff information board and have updated the website with new pictures of the rooms and I have made it a lot easier to navigate around the nursery information. I have also posted the new Summer menu 2010 on the website so please take time to have a look at our new improved website and have a look at our lovely meals. I have also added our newsletter for this term.
